What can I say, one of the jewels of KC. Shopping, dining and if the weather is nice, walking. Right across from the InterContinental Hotel (wow you are a high roller!). Some stores close at 7PM, except for Thursday when almost all are open until 9PM. Plaza III is another KC steak house high on most lists. The Capital Grille is a favorite of Chief's GM & President Carl Peterson. The Classic Cup is great for people watching as they stroll by. Starker's Reserve (upstairs) just down the street has good food and very good wine list. Not enough steak or seafood yet? McCormick & Schmicks and Ruth's Chris are on the Plaza as well. Can't forget PF Changs. A little off the Plaza are four I really like, Bo Lings (Chinese), Grand Street Cafe (regional American) JJ's (Wine Spectator award winner) and Houston's a bit further in Fairway....You could go a little more south to Brookside area, Joe D's Winebar Cafe (food/wine is great...bread pudding to die for...but I digress.
It's no wonder KC is a perennial contender for the most rotund... a mecca for HBP/CHD/CAD and BPH (?). Fact is we have little to no self control and we throw ourselves on the mercy of our AMCP colleagues visiting Kansas City. Welcome...you are now on your own!
