Near the banks of the mighty MO, this quaint area has undergone a resurrection in the last 10 years. Rehabbed red brick buildings house restaurants, bars and some shopping. Saturday morning visit the open air market.

Some picks for food, Le Frou Frog (French) just received rave reviews by KC Star food critic, Garozzo's (St Louis style Italian) and the Delaware Cafe (another recommended spot by KC Star food reviewer).

Harry's Country Club is a local hangout for food and drink

The Steam Boat Arabia Museum has artifacts from the early days of steam boat commerce. Boat was discovered buried in the old river bed...lots of interesting stuff.

KC has legalized gambling, the Isle of Capri is the closest to downtown, just across the Paseo/I35 Bridge, about 5 minutes from the River Market area.
